diving butterflies

when I hear your voice
my heart
dives into the pits of my stomach,
climbs up with the butterflies
stops short of my mouth

careful, don’t let it slip out

wings tickle my lips into a shy smile,
thrilled that I lingered
for a millisecond in your mind.

I’ll prolong any conversation
just to have your attention,
just to hear you say my name.
