A Day in Brooklyn
Rise and shine!
After sleeping in for forever, we woke up to a beautiful sunny day in Williamsburg.
Williamsburg - Black Brick Coffee
I don't even know where we went but it was was definitely one of those need to be and dress a certain way sorts of places.
Williamsburg - Apple Store
Tam and I hadn't seen any of the Apple Stores with the store in a store concept. The one on 5th Avenue was wholly disappointing because the cube was under reservation. This was pretty cool though.
I guess it was extra exciting because the red iPhone was announced. The red is so nice, but too bad the face is white.
Brooklyn - Peter Luger Steakhouse
I called Peter Luger at 5am HST so I could make reservations for this place. It's supposed to be one of the best places to get steak ever. Check this video out as an appetizer.
I made the reservations for 4, just in case my friend Chris wanted to bring his girlfriend. We met right as it opened and we were so excited!
I've never had a dry aged steak, so maybe I didn't appreciate it as much. I thought it was very meaty and tender, there was tons of flavor too. Both Tam and Chris thought it tasted pretty good also. However, I've had tons of burgers. In fact, I think of myself as a burger connoisseur, and it was so good. Even just looking at the raw onion makes my mouth salivate. The meat was seasoned and it was all serious business.
The sundae was also perfect for dessert. Overall, 10/10, would do again.
Strolling through Brooklyn
We walked through Brooklyn today since it was the first sunny day in a while. The Brooklyn Bridge Park is a beautiful place to on a sunny day! I didn't know there were on the water courts for tennis, basketball, and soccer. Anyway, here's some pictures of our walk.
Brooklyn - Juliana's
After walking along the bridge park we were hungry, and had recommendations to go to Grimaldi's for pizza... But it had average reviews on Yelp so we checked out the place next to it, which was Juliana's.
I was so full, so I didn't eat too much. BUT, the pizza was so big and very awesome. Tam mentioned that the water for dough makes a difference, and I think it did. The pizza dough is definitely was chewier, but not in a bad way at all.
We were definitely confused because Juliana's was founded by a member of the Grimaldi family. A quick search on Juliana's website details how the family sold Grimaldi's to a customer, and returned to the pizza scene with Juliana's. We were not disappointed. I know my mom's friend said that the other place was better. Maybe she's right... But also maybe not!
End of the Day
After that, we walked most of the way back to our Airbnb to take some sunset shots, and then knocked out till morning!
